Maryjo Highland is the driving force behind Highland & Associates. She has an exceptional track record of success as a business leader, advisor and community leader. Prior to founding Highland and Associates, Maryjo had an outstanding career as a Marketing and Sales Representative for IBM in Chicago and San Francisco. Her clients included Citicorp, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley. After realizing her passion was commercial real estate and sales she went on to consistently make the top five producer list in her office and region for CB Commercial in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Her specialty was leasing and sales of retail properties working with REIT's such as BRE Properties and the SIMON Group. Her clients included nationally recognized retailers such as Kinkos, Barnes & Noble, McDonald's, Vons / Safeway, Rite Aid and numerous other retailers established throughout the United States.

Maryjo’s experiences over the past twenty five years have focused around sales, marketing and customer service. In every career she undertook she not only exceeded but excelled in her performance. In 1996 she took her knowledge and relationships from her previous careers and started Highland and Associates. Within the first year the company became a nationally recognized executive recruitment firm specializing in the commercial real estate industry.

Her client base was focused on the shopping center industry where she placed Vice Presidents of Real Estate, Asset Management, Leasing, Construction and Design and Property Management.

As the company grew she took on additional assignments which covered positions from Project and Construction Management to Facilities and Controllers. Throughout the years her satisfied clients have continued to engage her in searches that have opened up new industries and new positions for the recruitment firm. Her current list of industries covered includes Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Legal, Service Professionals, Accounting and Finance, Non-Profit and Education, Technology, Health Services and Hospitality.

Maryjo received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and later obtained a graduate degree from Northern Illinois University. In 2004 Hope for a Cure Foundation which is a non-profit organization was formed by Maryjo and four other professional women in San Diego. The foundations' mission is to raise funds to purchase equipment for scientists and doctors in the San Diego area.
